Descent

Lineage told the story of a stem that became a flower without ever changing direction, the bloom still fixed to its line. This piece tells what happens next — the moment the flower is finally released to hang on its own.

Description:

The Flower Let Go

The upper portion is unmistakably Lineage’s language: a pavé diamond fern leaf, alternating leaflets tapering upward toward the ear. But where Lineage’s stem carried its bloom to a fixed close, here the line ends in a fine link, and from that link the flower hangs free — a disc of pear-cut diamond petals around a round centre stone, suspended rather than mounted, able to turn and settle with its own small weight as the wearer moves.

This single change — fixed becoming suspended — alters the whole piece’s character. Lineage reads as continuous growth. This piece reads as the moment growth lets go of what it made, trusting the bloom to carry itself.

Worn as a pair, the two earrings rarely hang at quite the same angle, which is not an inconsistency to correct but the entire point: a released thing does not hold a fixed pose.
