Not every rain falls heavy. Some of it barely qualifies as rain at all — a fine, scattered fall that catches light rather than weight.
This hoop is built on that lightness. A slender diamond-set band forms the circle, and from its lower half hang small pear-cut diamonds, evenly spaced, each one swinging free on its own small link. Unlike the fringe of Shower, which crowds its beads densely together, this piece leaves visible space between each drop — a scattered fall rather than a curtain, the difference between standing under a tree after rain and standing in the rain itself.
The hoop’s construction allows each pear drop its own small arc of movement without ever colliding with its neighbours, which means the piece never goes still: even at rest, the slightest motion sets a few drops swinging while the others settle.
If Shower is rain caught mid-fall in sheets, this is rain caught as it actually arrives most days in this garden’s fortnight — scattered, light, and never quite finished.
