Duet

Clearing argued that one flower, given enough room, says everything it needs to. This ring makes the opposite case — that two blooms, answering each other across an open band, say something neither could alone.

Description:

Two Blooms, Echoing

The construction follows Clearing’s open-shank logic closely: the band does not close beneath the hand, leaving space the way that piece did. But where Clearing held a single blossom, this one holds two, set at either end of the opening, each built from marquise diamond petals around a round centre stone, angled so they face each other across the gap rather than away from it.

Between them, two small pearls sit like unopened buds mid-conversation — not attached to either flower, but placed in the space the open band creates, the way a pause between two voices still belongs to both of them. This is the piece in Vanika that comes closest to a literal duet: two of the same motif, never identical, in dialogue across a deliberate silence.

Where Clearing was about knowing when growth should stop, this piece is about what happens when two separate moments of growth are given room to notice each other.
