A bird does not display its plumage at every hour. Most of the day, the feathers simply fold — layered, overlapping, each one protecting the next, waiting for the moment they’re needed.
This piece reads the same way. Three leaflets fold together into a single wing-like form, entirely in warm yellow diamond pavé, edged in white where each leaflet meets the next. Round emeralds of varying size are set through the gold field without any visible counting logic — denser where the leaflets overlap, sparser at the open edges, the way colour in a real folded wing concentrates where feathers layer and thins where they don’t.
Unlike Canopy, which shelters a single heavy drop beneath it, this piece carries nothing beneath. The leaflets are the whole statement, folded close to the ear rather than cascading from it — a piece built for proximity and warmth rather than drama and length.
If Canopy is a leaf in the act of sheltering, this is the same family at rest: wings folded, nothing left to protect because nothing hangs beneath them to need it.
